1. Rationale
I first started making commercial websites in 2000. It soon became apparent to me that the pricing structure used by my competitors - and which often relied solely on a hefty one-off fee with little or no guarantee of support - left the customer feeling abandoned and isolated at the end of the process.
I work on the presumption that my clients want to see and use their product over a period of time so that they can become convinced that their site is meeting their personal or commercial needs without a large initial outlay, and that they can become confident over time that their site is doing what its web developer has told them it would do.
For this reason I charge extremely inexpensively - £860 - for the initial creation and design of an entirely self-manageable and highly stable product, only subsequently charging professional rates for you to continue to host with Runningdog.co.uk (and therefore continue to self-manage your product) once it is clear that you are happy with your product and service.
If you are, for any reason, unhappy with the service or product that Runningdog.co.uk provides, you are quite justified in taking your content - and your design - to another server. I count on the longer-term service and support that I provide to retain my customers, and my support and hosting fees reflect this.
As an example, the creation, design and development of your site - including hosting and support of your website for the first 13 months - will cost you £1160 (£860 + £300) if you pay hosting monthly, or £1040 (£860 + £180) if you pay for a year's hosting up front. The minimum it will cost to keep your site up-and-running during your second year - if paid yearly - will be £150; and the minimum for your third year (+) will cost you £120.

3. Payment plans for hosting with Runningdog.co.uk
No two businesses are the same, and as such I offer flexible short-, medium- or long-term hosting plans to suit your financial needs.
Customers that remain with Runningdog.co.uk after the first year are rewarded with progressively lower-priced hosting plans for their 2nd and 3rd years +. Please see the tables below for details.
Runningdog.co.uk's hosting plans and prices will stay static until November 2007, when they will be reviewed against inflation.

4. Methods of payment
Cheques, made payable to Runningdog.co.uk, are accepted for either your initial development costs or for your chosen hosting plan. Alternatively you may set up a standing order for your hosting plans: please enquire for further details.
Design and development payment
Once you have decided to have your website created by Runningdog.co.uk, 50% of the total design bill will be sent to you for payment. You have a two-weel cooling-off period.
Afer you are happy that your website is performing as you wish, an invoice for the rest of the fee will be sent to you at the end of your first month's free hosting.
Hosting plans and payment
You will receive a reminder 2 weeks before your hosting plan is due to expire. Please renew your hosting plan within this period to ensure smooth running of your website *.
* Should a payment not be received within this 2-week period, your management rights to your website will be discontinued after a second notification and your website temporarily taken off-line. Please do not be offended or take this personally! A back-up will be taken before this action is taken so that none of your content will be lost, and to enable you to get quickly back on line should you decide to continue with your payments and Runningdog hosting.
5. Non-profit organisations
Non-profit organisations will receive a 20% discount on both development costs and hosting plans.
